In an ongoing effort to connect with the community, Local SEO Sites has partnered with Team Think Pink to provide funds to create a greater awareness of the far reaching effects of breast cancer.
The “Think Pink” promotion is a month long fundraising effort . Rather than their standard $1,500 set up fee, Local SEO Sites is offering a promotional rate of $500 and donating 10% of the gross fees collected directly to Team Think Pink to further the non-profit organization’s mission to foster public awareness.
Orange County SEO agency, Local SEO Sites has a reputation for delivering SEO results and we distinguish ourselves from other online marketing companies by our proven track record and excellent customer service. “We are behind this cause 110%. My wife is a breast cancer survivor” says Andrew J. Lopez, Principal Partner at Local SEO Sites, “1 out of every 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. That’s pretty much ensures that everyone will know at least 1 person who has been touched by this disease.”
Team Think Pink was originally formed in 2008 to raise funds for Komen Orange County’s Race for the Cure to honor Barbara Meyers who lost her life to breast cancer on race day, September 27, 1998. In 2010, Team Think Pink Inc. was incorporated by President Gail Ross, Treasurer Julie Meyers Braunsdorf, Director Alvena Johnston, and Secretary Tracy Morgan. These women are Orange County professionals and business owners and friends from childhood volunteering their time to support their mission.
Julie and Alvena have run the race together every year since 1995 as a tribute to Julie’s mom, Barbara Meyers, who became the ultimate victim of breast cancer on September 27, 1998.
Thanks to fundraising efforts and the growing amount of research being done, more than 3 million women have been saved. It’s crucial that the public be aware of the steps necessary to ensure early detection. Thanks to growing public awareness the survival rate for early detection is at 99%.
There are several types of risks as outlined by the Susan Komen Foundation:
- Absolute Risk or the risk that anyone runs of contracting a disease (see linked chart)
- Relative Risk or the increase in Absolute Risk based on behavior or environmental factors
- Individual Risk or the percentage chance you will develop the disease based on several factors, regardless of a particular demographic group (see assessment tool)
- Group Risk or the percentage increase based on the demographic group you are in
Regardless of your risk it’s crucial to not only self-exam, but to see a doctor for an exam at least once a year, depending on your age.
